As things stand, we will be providing sessions for our members again from 1st September. In order for us to do this, a few things need to happen.
As a club, we need to have a number of protocols in place and be able to provide our members with clear directions as to how any sessions must operate to ensure that they are COVID-secure. The work for this is ongoing and the measures put in place will be subject to review and amendment at short notice. As a general principle, we will be following the guidelines as set out by Table Tennis England, which are driven by the guidelines as set out by the Government.
At present, our focus is to provide all members with an opportunity to practise and, to try and ensure that all members have an equal opportunity, our intention is to allocate sessions for Junior Coaching and Adults' Practice.
Junior coaching groups will be formed from the groups who would normally attend Bishop's Tachbrook and Free Church sessions on a Saturday morning. Adults will be grouped together in bubbles and allocated slots during which they can practise.
In order to help with the organisation and planning, it is vital that all members inform Phil John if they are unable to make a session to which they have been allocated as soon as possible.
When we resume, we will obviously not be able to operate in exactly the same way as before. We hope, of course, to be able to get back to our normal in time, but until that is possible all members will be asked to exercise patience and understanding of the situation we are in.
In particular, there will be an expectation that all members take responsibility for their own actions and commit to keeping themselves up to date with the Club's current protocols regarding COVID-19.
The protocols being put in place are designed to minimise the risk to all members, their families, and other users of the venue whilst allowing us to return to action.
All members must strictly adhere to the protocols laid out and failure to do so may result in a loss of opportunity to play. Of course, we do not anticipate any such issues from our members, but please do keep in mind the importance of following the rules.
Please take time to read and understand the protocols listed below. These have been designed to minimise the risk to players, families and other users of the venues and must be strictly followed.
The protocols have been split in to three sections:
These apply to all members at all times.
These apply to coaches and players on junior coaching sessions.
Arrival
Preparing to play
On court
Coach interaction
After play
These apply to all members on adults' practice sessions.
