Many congratulations go to club member Alex O'Driscoll who returned from Toronto, Canada, in August as the Men's Singles Silver medallist in the World Dwarf Games.
It took 7 hours of competition for Alex to earn his medal. In his group Will Mavers, Bobby Laing and Alex Palmer, all of Great Britain, were defeated as well as Sam Kimberley of Australia. In the quarter-finals Alex beat Jonathan Blazer of Germany in straight games before facing the eventual champion, Alex Dajean of France, which he lost.
This meant a 3rd/4th play-off with Nathan To of the United States which Alex duly won. However, with the disqualification of the losing finalist Alex struck silver.
