Lillington Free Church Premier TTC sent a squad to play in the National Division 2 (B) of the Senior British Clubs League. The event was held in Draycott, near Derby. Church had won promotion last season and it was realised that this would be a step up but the club has made a pleasing start.

On Saturday they faced Wood Green from Wednesbury and emerged with a 7-2 win. Number one Lee Dorning, rated at 168 in England defeated Jake Westwood (123) and Jamie Davies (131). Rex Wong, who is still a junior, beat Davies and Stephen Ward and the duo beat Davies and Ward in the doubles. James Berry defeated Nicholas Gilmour and Westwood whilst Monika Tomaszek was unlucky to fall to Gilmour 9-11 in the 5th.

Buoyed by this victory Church then played the Kingfisher club from Reading, recording a 5-4 win in a close and exciting encounter. Dorning again contributed two, overcoming Harry Randall (150) and Prayrit Ahluwalia. Young Wong also pipped Randall, 11-9 in the 5th and saw off Ryan Chung. The duo then took the doubles against Randall and Chung. James Berry went down to Ahluwalia 8-11 in the 5th but Lillington had got over the line.

The step up in level was demonstrated on the Sunday. Nottingham 2 proved too strong beating Lillington 8-1. Dorning took the consolation against James Harvey. Finally, Draycott 4 made the most of home advantage to secure a 7-2 success. Dorning beat Mark Green and he and Wong defeated John Taylor and Javier Goh 12-10 in the 5th in a nail biting doubles.
