Saturday morning coaching is held at Bishop’s Tachbrook School, Kingsley Road, Bishop’s Tachbrook and at Lillington Free Church, Cubbington Road, Lillington. It is run throughout the school year, meeting most Saturdays during term time. It is not held during school holidays, or if the Club is holding one of its graded tournaments.
The coaching is split between the two venues to allow for smaller groups and increase the amount of table time each player gets.
There are three sessions at Bishop’s Tachbrook which are as follows:
Session 1, 09:30 – 10:30
Session one is a beginners session. It is suitable for those players, irrespective of age, who are new to the game and looking to acquire the basic skills. The majority of players on this session are aged between 8 and 11.
Session 2, 10:30 – 11:30
Session 3, 11:30 – 12:30
The two later sessions are for Improvers. These are usually junior players who are aspiring to play in the League or who already do so.
A team of 5 coaches regularly support these 3 sessions.
There are also sessions at Lillington Free Church:
Session 1, 10:00 – 11:30
This session is for our top junior players, who will be competing in the local league and in national competitions.
Session 2, 11:45 – 13:00
This session is for a mixture of our older teenagers and adults.
