New Build

Hi club members and families,

NEW BUILD

This morning I attended a meeting at church at which we decided to accept an offer from Waterloo Housing Association and Galliford Try, the builders, to build us a new church with adjoining hall in return for the release of some of the church land to construct 25 affordable homes. The new buildings will be slightly to the field side of the present church. It will have a welcome/reception area which will double up as a coffee lounge and which will be available to us.

Obviously, this will be subject to planning permission but the developers are confident that we will gain approval. Our marketing person is drawing up a contract in conjunction with our solicitor. We will be having further discussions shortly to identify a time-scale but we are hoping our hall will be completed by Spring 2016.

National Cadet (U15) League

Our A team of Adam Cofler, Jack Green and Lewis Singleton played brilliantly at Wellingborough at the weekend and finished 3rd in a Division 1 of high quality. Adam beat the England number 17 as well as two other England ranked players.

Our B team were treated harshly by the organisers, perhaps because of our club’s developing reputation, and were also placed in Division 1. They lost their first 4 matches but showed great spirit to win their last match against Knighton Park of Leicester. We were VERY proud of Tom Fletcher, Robbie Fitchford and Ricardo Bolanos.

Our C team of Jenny Singleton, Katie Singleton and Daniel Strand, making his debut, finished 5th in Division 2 but only two points off 3rd place.

Our D team of Ciara Hancox, Emily Beasley, Milly Green and Findaly Douglas, all debutants, astonished us by winning all three matches in Division 3A to finish top.
Ciara included the scalp of the England number 57 under 13 girl.

Two a side League

Those of you who play in the 2-a-side League might like to know that it is likely to expand to 5 divisions in January. The League Chairman will re-grade teams and we will have to wait and see which divisions we end up in. We have pledged to put in 3 new teams.
